QUIENES SOMOS | ABOUT US
PLANTA ALTA nace del deseo y la iniciativa de Sara McLaren, Patricio Gil Flood y Rocío Sibecas, quienes continúan impulsando y coordinando el proyecto junto a una red en constante crecimiento de artistas, colaboradores, gestores, investigadores, espacios e instituciones.
Esta trama de vínculos encuentra una de sus principales formas de desarrollo en los programas de investigación artística que impulsa el espacio. En 2025 se incorporó un grupo de seis artistas becarios para participar de Suspenso y efervescencia, programa anual de investigación artística orientado a la producción colectiva de conocimiento, el intercambio de experiencias y la experimentación entre prácticas diversas.
Actualmente se desarrolla la edición 2026 del programa anual de investigación artística Vértigo y osadía, con la participación de nueve artistas. Cada edición amplía y fortalece la red de trabajo de PLANTA ALTA, promoviendo nuevas formas de encuentro, colaboración e investigación en torno al arte contemporáneo.

PLANTA ALTA emerged from the initiative and shared commitment of Sara McLaren, Patricio Gil Flood, and Rocío Sibecas, who continue to lead and coordinate the project alongside a growing network of artists, collaborators, cultural workers, researchers, independent spaces, and institutions.
This network finds one of its main forms of development through the artistic research programs promoted by the space. In 2025, six fellowship artists participated in Suspenso y efervescencia, an annual artistic research program focused on the collective production of knowledge, the exchange of experiences, and experimentation across diverse practices.
PLANTA ALTA is currently developing the 2026 edition of its annual artistic research program, Vértigo y osadía, with the participation of nine artists. Each edition expands and strengthens the organization's network, fostering new forms of encounter, collaboration, and research within the field of contemporary art.
PATRICIO GIL FLOOD · Artista visual, investigador, curador (La Plata, 1977)
Vivo y trabajo entre Ginebra y Argentina desde 2013. Antes de vivir en Suiza, estudié en Argentina en la Universidad Nacional y formé parte del Centro de Investigaciones Artísticas de Buenos Aires, entre otras muchas colaboraciones. Realicé un Máster por la EDHEA y un Doctorado por la ESAAA de Annecy. Actualmente, estoy a cargo del Laboratorio de Edición en EDHEA y soy miembro fundador del colectivo ginebrino MACACO Press desde 2015.
Mi práctica no es lineal, aparece como una constelación para una contribución hacia un campo más amplio del arte. Como una forma de permacultura, ejerzo diferentes roles, como artista, profesor, curador, investigador, editor. Roles que se complementan entre sí, lo que me ayuda a desarrollar diversas formas de conocimiento en combinaciones híbridas.
Desde hace algunos años, trabajo en proyectos que confrontan la relación paradójica entre dicotomías occidentales como naturaleza y cultura, mito e historia, material e inmaterial, ficción y función, texto y acción, trabajo y ocio. Para desarrollar una práctica dinámica en red, combino intervenciones en el espacio público, performance, collage, impresión, escritura y documentación.
Este modus operandi cuenta con la ayuda y la complicidad de colaboradores para crear nuevas formas de acción y coagencia. He aquí algunos ejemplos: HELVETROPICOS, École du non-travail, Prácticas de Periferia, Filfilfil, MACACO Press, Los Individuos Radio, La Dispersión, AAS (Agencia de Asuntos Subtropicales), Artistas Organizados, CIA Centro y la microsociedad de artistas Proyeto V.

PATRICIO GIL FLOOD · Artista visual, investigador, curador (La Plata, 1977)
I live and work between Geneva and Argentina since 2013. Before living in Switzerland, I studied in Argentina at the Universidad Nacional and was part of the Centro de Investigaciones Artísticas de Buenos Aires, among many other collaborations. I have a Master's degree from EDHEA and a PhD from ESAAA in Annecy. Currently, I am in charge of the Editing Lab at EDHEA and I am a founding member of the Geneva-based collective MACACO Press since 2015.
My practice is not linear, it appears as a constellation for a contribution towards a wider field of art. As a form of permaculture, I exercise different roles, as artist, teacher, curator, researcher, editor. Roles that complement each other, which helps me to develop diverse forms of knowledge in hybrid combinations.
For some years now, I have been working on projects that confront the paradoxical relationship between Western dichotomies such as nature and culture, myth and history, material and immaterial, fiction and function, text and action, work and leisure. To develop a dynamic networked practice, I combine interventions in public space, performance, collage, printmaking, writing and documentation.
This modus operandi relies on the help and complicity of partners to create new forms of action and co-agency. Here are some examples: HELVETROPICOS, École du non-travail, Prácticas de Periferia, Filfilfil, MACACO Press, Los Individuos Radio, La Dispersión, AAS (Agency for Subtropical Affairs), Artistas Organizados, CIA Centro and the micro-society of artists Proyeto V.

SARA MCLAREN · Artista, investigadora (Ginebra, 1989)
Tras licenciarse en antropología y geografía en la Universidad de Neuchâtel, cursó un máster en "Arte en el espacio público" en EDHEA - Sierre. Desde entonces, ha trabajado en varios proyectos artísticos personales y colectivos. Forma parte de la Cie Sputnik, que desde hace diez años explora las intersecciones entre antropología, teatro, escritura y danza in situ, en Francia y en Valais, en particular en el marco de "Art en Partage". También ha participado en el proyecto colectivo "Prácticas de periferia", un programa de coincidencia-ProHelvetia, y recientemente en la organización del festival de performance y danza "EnCorpsEnsemble". También actúa ocasionalmente con MACACO Press. A título individual, lleva varios años investigando el tema de "Chez-soi", y actualmente trabaja en una nueva publicación/exposición. Paralelamente a su práctica artística, imparte talleres de arte en diversas asociaciones y museos, entre ellos el MEG, donde también realiza visitas guiadas. También trabaja en el ámbito social para la asociación SuperLicorne.

SARA MCLAREN · Artist, researcher (Geneva, 1989)
After graduating in anthropology and geography at the University of Neuchâtel, she took a master's degree in 'Art in public space' at EDHEA - Sierre. Since then, she has worked on several personal and collective artistic projects. She is a member of Cie Sputnik, which for ten years has been exploring the intersections between anthropology, theatre, writing and dance in situ, in France and in Valais, in particular within the framework of 'Art en Partage'. She has also participated in the collective project 'Practices of periphery', a programme of coincidence-ProHelvetia, and recently in the organisation of the performance and dance festival 'EnCorpsEnsemble'. He also performs occasionally with MACACO Press. As an individual, she has been researching the theme of 'Chez-soi' for several years, and is currently working on a new publication/exhibition. Parallel to her artistic practice, she gives art workshops in various associations and museums, including the MEG, where she also gives guided tours. She also works in the social field for the association SuperLicorne.
ROCÍO SIBECAS · Artista visual, gestora cultural (La Plata, 1985)
Vivo y trabajo en La Plata, Argentina. Soy Licenciada en Artes Plásticas con orientación en Grabado y Arte Impreso (FDA, UNLP), donde desde 2007 me desempeño como docente en las cátedras Procedimientos de las Artes Plásticas I B y Lenguaje Visual I B. Desde 2017 también desarrollo tareas de investigación y escritura curatorial.
Mi práctica artística se desarrolla entre el pequeño formato, los medios mixtos y las instalaciones, explorando formas de producción transdisciplinaria. Actualmente trabajo en torno a las nociones de azar, desplazamiento y descarte como procedimientos de recolección, observación y reorganización material.
En los últimos años profundicé mi trabajo en gestión cultural, producción de contenidos y desarrollo de actividades colectivas vinculadas al arte contemporáneo. Soy cofundadora de PLANTA ALTA, donde desarrollo tareas de coordinación y gestión del espacio, y actualmente integro la Subcomisión de Artistas del Club Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, participando en la producción y articulación de proyectos culturales.

ROCÍO SIBECAS · Visual artist, cultural manager (La Plata, 1985)
I live and work in La Plata, Argentina. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts with a specialization in Engraving and Printed Art from the Faculty of Arts at the National University of La Plata (FDA–UNLP). Since 2007, I have taught in the courses Procedures in Visual Arts I B and Visual Language I B. Since 2017, I have also been engaged in research and curatorial writing.
My artistic practice develops through small-scale works, mixed media, and installations, exploring transdisciplinary modes of production. My current work focuses on notions of chance, displacement, and discard as methods of collecting, observing, and materially reorganizing elements.
In recent years, I have deepened my involvement in cultural management, content production, and the development of collective activities related to contemporary art. I am a co-founder of PLANTA ALTA, where I coordinate and manage the space’s programs and activities. I am also a member of the Artists Subcommittee of Club Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, contributing to the production and coordination of cultural projects.
